The Supreme Court on Friday refused to intervene in the issue of construction of the guest house by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department on the picturesque Rushikonda Hills in Visakhapatnam.
A division bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Abhay S Oka dismissed a petition filed by rebel YSR Congress party MP from Narasapuram Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishna Raju seeking the apex court intervention in the issue.
The Supreme Court bench said it cannot intervene in the matter at this stage when the issue is pending in the state high court.
"If the petitioner has any objections in the government actions, he can approach the state high court," it said.
Since the high court has already given interim directions in the Rushikonda case, the aggrieved parties could approach the Supreme Court only after the completion of the case in the high court, the bench said.
Raju alleged that the Jagan government was resorting to indiscriminate digging of Rushikonda Hills, in violation of the National Green Tribunal order, to construct camp office and guest house for chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He also told the court that the state government had also violated the directions given by the high court to stop constructions on Rushikonda Hills.
