Ruckus over Duvvada Sinu extramarital affair

The controversy over the extramarital affair of YSR Congress party’s legislative council member Duvvada Srinivas is causing a major embarrassment to the party, as he drove away his wife and two daughters, who staged a dharna at his residence in Tekkali till the early hours of Saturday.

Duvvada has been living with a woman called Madhuri for quite some time, ignoring his wife Duvvada Vani and two daughters.

Vani, who hails from a rich political family and also has been the zilla parishad territorial constituency member from Tekkali is alleging that Duvvada has deserted the family and maintaining illegal relationship with another married woman.

A couple of days ago, both the daughters went to Duvvada’s residence and wanted to see their father. But Madhuri drove them away, saying that he had no connection with him whatsoever.

On Friday afternoon, Vani along with the two daughters staged a dharna in front of Duvvada’s residence, demanding that he should come out of his house and give an explanation why he has a relationship with another woman without divorcing her.

She said her family had been in politicsl for several years. Her grandfather Raghava Rao and father Lakshmipathi had lost hundreds of acres to do public service.

“But Duvvada, who came from a different place, usurped all the properties and gained hold over Tekkali constituency,” Vani alleged.

She said she had been maintaining a lot of restraint over the extra-marital affair of her husband and had even complained to YSRCP president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and other senior leaders of the party several times.

“But nobody came to our rescue,” she lamented.

Vani said Duvvada had ruined not only her family, but also the party workers who had faith in him.

“He has fallen into the trap of Madhuri, who had already ruined several other families,” she said.

Her elder daughter Haindavi said Duvvada was 60 years old and he should be telling others what is good and what is bad.

“But my father himself is going in the wrong track. It is our duty to save the party and the workers, besides the family,” she said.

As the dharna went beyond 2 am on Saturday, Duvvada came out of his house and tried to assault Vani and his two daughters with a stick for questioning his affair. The local people and the police prevented him and whisked her and two daughters away.

Later, Duvvada told reporters that his wife and daughters had come to his house to kill him.

“They brought knives and rods. They want to kill me and usurp my properties. They have the support of the ruling Telugu Desam Party. I even lodged a complaint with the police, but they are not bothered to listen to my version,” he alleged.
