Rs 1.44 cr released for sprucing up Naidu residence!

The Andhra Pradesh government has released Rs 1.44 crore for taking up various works required for providing VVIP facilities at the residence of Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his Karakatta residence at Undavalli in Amaravati.

A government order was issued on Monday following a report from chief engineer (roads and buildings) and electrical.

The authorities concerned were asked to process the bills to the extent funds available under the head of accounts, and thereafter place the proposal for additional funds, if necessary.

According to the GO, an amount of Rs 21 lakh was sanctioned for repairs and replacement of existing solar power fencing with new items at the chief minister’s residence at Undavalli; and an amount of Rs 81 lakhs for providing additional cameras in existing CCTV system.

Similarly, an amount of Rs 42 lakh would be released for carrying out repairs access controls like UVSS, Hydraulic 3 Bollards, Retractable Gates, Tyre killers, Boom barriers removed from the residence of former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy at Tadepalli and installation of the same at Naidu’s residence.

The chief minister is presently being guarded by black cat commandoes of National Security Guards. They would soon be replaced by CRPF personnel, besides the state government police.

In 2019, Jagan had to face a lot of criticism for spending Rs 15.65 crore at his Tadepalli residence and camp office.

This includes Rs 73 lakh to fix windows for his house, Rs 1.89 crore for helipad, fencing, laying of approach road, permanent barricading, police barracks and security posts, another Rs 5 crore for widening and strengthening of Revendrapadu-Seethanagaram road to pave a smooth way for the chief minister’s convoy.

The government had also sanctioned Rs 3.63 crore for electrical and electromechanical works pertaining to the CM’s camp office and residence at Tadepalli. Another Rs 2.5 lakh was released for the construction of ‘Praja Vedika’, a public grievances hall.

An amount of Rs 73 lakh was released for supply and installation of aluminium windows, doors and miscellaneous works for the chief minister’s residence and office block.

Similarly, Rs 3.35 crore towards compensation for 0.148 acres of land for construction of view cutter at the CM’s residence.
