When YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, the area surrounding his Tadepalli residence and camp office resembled a fortress.
Several villas near Jagan’s residence were either rented or purchased by prominent YSR Congress leaders, such as party general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy and senior leader Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who were his closest confidants during that period.
Sai Reddy reportedly purchased two villas near Jagan’s residence, using them as his operational base throughout Jagan’s five-year tenure.
However, after the YSR Congress Party suffered a significant defeat in the recent assembly elections, these leaders stopped frequenting Tadepalli.
Subsequently, Sai Reddy leased out his villas in Tadepalli to a corporate company for use as guest houses. Other villas that were rented by YSRCP leaders have also been vacated.
With the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) now in power, several TDP leaders, including some ministers, have started occupying these luxurious villas and bungalows, as this area remains one of the few with such high-end accommodations.
According to recent reports, one of the villas close to Jagan’s residence has been leased by his political adversary, Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju.
This particular villa is one of the two properties owned by Sai Reddy and is registered under the name of Sai Reddy’s daughter, V Neha Reddy. During Jagan's regime, Sai Reddy used it as both an office and residence.
After Sai Reddy vacated the villa following YSRCP's loss, it was temporarily rented by Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao (brother of superstar Krishna and the original developer of the colony).
Rao initially leased the villa for a friend who, for unspecified reasons, did not move in. He then offered it to Raju, who was searching for suitable accommodation in the Vijayawada area.
With Raju now occupying the villa, he has become Jagan’s new neighbor. This development undoubtedly presents a "thorn-in-the-flesh" situation for Jagan, having his staunch political rival residing just next door!
