Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and his wife, Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy, are reportedly facing humiliation within the TDP, despite being among the wealthiest politicians in the state.
At a recent DRC meeting held at the Nellore Zilla Parishad hall, Reddy was invited onstage only to be subtly humiliated.
The Vemireddy couple joined the TDP from the YSRCP before the elections, reportedly after enduring mistreatment within the YSRCP.
Their departure was viewed as a sign of Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s waning hold on power. They value respect above positions, though Prashanthi Reddy has expressed interest in a TTD role to serve Lord Venkateshwara.
However, the TDP has not provided the respect they anticipated, continuing the pattern they faced in the YSRCP.
Observers suggest their gentle, soft-spoken nature makes them targets in today’s political environment, where survival often requires the ability to instill fear.
Supporters argue that Vemireddy’s reputation as a “good man” has become an obstacle. Without a fear of serious consequences, ministers and officials alike continue to show disrespect.
