It looks like a reversal of the 2019 election scenario in Andhra Pradesh this time. If it was the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy-led YSR Congress party which recorded an unprecedented win in 2019, it is the turn of the Telugu Desam Party-led NDA this time.
Going by the early trends available till now, the NDA is heading for a landslide victory in the state assembly elections.
Out of the trends available in 131 out of 175 assembly seats, the NDA allies registered a decisive lead in 114 assembly seats with TDP leading in 94 seats, Jana Sena Party in 16 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party in five seats.
The ruling YSR Congress party is trailing far behind the NDA allies by posting a lead in only 17 assembly seats.
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is leading in Kuppam, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan in Pithapuram and YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in his Pulivendula assembly constituency.
In Lok Sabha elections, too, the NDA has posted a massive lead over the YSRCP. While leads were available in 22 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats, the TDP is leading in 13 seats, BJP in five seats and Jana Sena in two seat.
The ruling YSRCP is leading in just two seats, including Kadapa Lok Sabha seat where the party candidate Y S Avinash Reddy is leading over Jagan’s sister Y S Sharmila.
In Telangana, too, the BJP established a clear lead over the Congress. Out of 17 seats in the state, the BJP is leading in eight seats and the Congress in seven. Bharat Rashtra Samithi has drawn a blank in the elections so far.
