Revanth predicts Sharmila as next Andhra CM

Revanth predicts Sharmila as next Andhra CM

Telangana Congress president and chief minister A Revanth Reddy is considered to be a protégé of Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The way both the chief ministers displayed bonhomie during Naidu’s visit to Hyderabad and the way Naidu praised Revanth’s leadership qualities indicate that both the CMs still maintain guru-sishya relationship.

But on Monday, Revanth Reddy, participating in a meeting to commemorate late chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy at Mangalagiri, predicted that Naidu would lose power in 2029 and would be replaced by Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president and YSR’s daughter Y S Sharmila.

“In 2029, Sharmila will become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Rahul Gandhi will become Prime Minister of India. Sharmila is the only leader who stood by people and fought for them in Andhra Pradesh,” the Telangana chief minister said.

He pointed out that even a school kid knows that it is difficult for Congress to win even a sarpanch post in Andhra Pradesh.

“Despite knowing that it is difficult, Sharmila has embarked this journey to take forward YSR’s legacy,” he said.

Revanth Reddy went to add that those who take forward YSR’s aspirations are only the true heirs.

“Those who are doing politics in the name of YSR are not his successors. I came along with cabinet colleagues to extend full support to Sharmila,” he said.

He said it was not the NDA, but the BJP which is in power in AP.

“BJP means Babu, Jagan and Pawan. There is no opposition in Andhra Pradesh. All belong to the ruling party. Babu, Jagan and Pawan are the supporters of PM Modi,” he said.

The Telangana chief minister also referred to the speculations of YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

“Some people are talking about a by-election to Kadapa Parliament seat. I am ready to participate in the election campaign in every street of  Kadapa if there is a chance to display the might of Kapada in Delhi,” he said.
