Controversial actress Sri Reddy, known for her vulgar comments and social media abuses against Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders during the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government, has received relief from the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
After the TDP-led coalition came to power, police registered cases against Sri Reddy for her offensive remarks targeting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha.
Many believed she would be arrested and jailed in connection with these cases.
Fearing imminent arrest, she even released videos pleading with Naidu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan not to take action against her.
Following her appeal, the government remained silent on the matter. However, Sri Reddy moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail, fearing she could be taken into custody at any time.
After hearing her plea, the High Court issued key orders.
It granted anticipatory bail to Sri Reddy in cases registered in Visakhapatnam and directed the police to issue notices and collect explanations for cases filed in Kurnool, Krishna, and Vizianagaram districts.
However, the court dismissed her anticipatory bail plea for cases registered in Chittoor district, leaving her still vulnerable to legal action in that region.
