Notwithstanding the repeated clarifications from the YSR Congress government in Andhra Pradesh on the allegations of corruption in the purchase of rapid test kits from South Korea, state Bharatiya Janata Party president Kanna Lakshminarayana continues to target the Jagan Mohan Reddy with the repeated allegations.
On Friday, state finance minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy threw a challenge to Kanna to prove the allegations of corruption in the purchase of rapid test kits form South Korea.
Reacting to the allegations that the kits were purchased through a company in which he was the director, the minister challenged Kanna to prove the allegations by 9 am on Saturday.
“Kanna has to produce evidences to prove that I am one of the directors of the company which had mediated in purchase of rapid test kits. If he proves the allegations, I will resign from my cabinet post immediately. If he cannot show evidences, he should resign from the state BJP president post,” Buggana challenged.
The minister alleged that Kanna was making meaningless and baseless allegations against him and the government.
“Such allegations do not befit his age. The opposition does not have any other meaningful activity and hence they are spreading canards against the government,” he said.
Buggana said not a single Telugu Desam Party leader was forthcoming to do any help the people affected by Coronavirus.
“Instead, they are unleashing a malicious campaign against the government. It is unfortunate that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has not been able to see the good works being done by the Jagan government,” he regretted.
The minister said everybody, including World Health Organisation, US president Donald Trump, Infosys president Narayana Murthy and former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan had all endorsed the statement of chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy that people have to learn to live with Coronavirus, as it wouldn’t disappear in the near future.
