The Andhra Pradesh government is getting ready to complete filing of charge sheet in Guntur B Tech student Ramya’s murder case.
AP Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita told media persons that the accused was already arrested and being interrogated.
State government had geotagged the data base of 2.11 lakh accused in sexual abuse cases over the years.
The State had already arrested and punished 148 accused in the sexual abuse cases. Of these 148 accused, three were awarded capital punishment, while another 17 were given life imprisonment.
Three accused were given 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment, while another 10 were given 10 years’ imprisonment.
After Disha Act was introduced in the state, the police have booked 1647 cases under the Act.
Charge sheet was filed in 2114 cases in just 15 days of the crime.
The Home Minister further said that states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, states are adopting AP’s Disha Act.
The Home Minister discounted the opposition parties allegations against the government and sought to advise them to restrain from politicising the crime against women.
