It appears to be prominent industrialist-turned-politician Potluri Vara Prasad, popularly known as PVP who is greatly relieved more than anybody else with the resignation of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani from the Telugu Desam Party and his defection to the YSR Congress party.
Perhaps, PVP might have thought decks have been cleared for his entry into the TDP, since it was Kesineni who has been stalling it for the last two years. Both the leaders have been indulging in a war of words on social media.
The industrialist-politician, who unsuccessfully contested against Kesineni in 2019 Lok Sabha elections and lost by a narrow margin of around 8,000 votes, has been trying to get into the TDP, but party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has not given him clearance, mainly due to Kesineni.
Now that Kesineni is out of the TDP over denial of LS ticket to him in the coming elections, PVP has begun targeting the Vijayawada MP on X (formerly twitter).
“The vehicle has already come for repair. Only thing is that the garage has changed. That’s all. Entire Vijayawada knows this fellow’s mind, isn’t it?” he commented.
PVP earlier said Kesineni had become a burden for the entire Vijayawada.
“He had been able to get on for 10 years only because of the support given by the TDP. He looted banks and fleeced people and employees,” he criticised.
It remains to be seen whether PVP will join the TDP or not, but the possibility of him getting the Vijayawada seat are bleak. Yet, Naidu cannot ignore him because of his huge money power and his stakes in the entertainment industry!
