Purandeshwari's Funny Translation Of Modi's Speech

Purandeshwari's Funny Translation Of Modi's Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Chilakaluripeta today didn't satisfy the TDP and Jana Sena members.

They expected that Modi would make lambasting comments and personally criticize YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the worst way possible. But he didn't make any personal comments against YS Jagan.

Rather, he made only some weak and namesake comments against the YSRCP government.

But what is amusing is Purandeshwari's translation of a line of Narendra Modi.

Narendra Modi said in Hindi, "yahaan ke log...rajya sarkaar se itnaa akrosith hai ki use hathaane ka mann kar chuke hai".

The exact meaning of this is, "The people of this state are so angry with the government here that they decided to remove it".

But Purandeshwari translated it with some extra words in Telugu, "edaite rashtramlo avineetilo koorukupoyina prabhutwam unnado daanini pekalinchi visiriveyaalani Andhra prajalu nirnayam teesukunnaarani naakaite arthamavutunan vishayam".

The English translation of her line goes like this: 'I feel that the people of this state have decided to pluck and throw away the government that is deep-rooted in corruption".

Here Modi didn't use the word 'government deep-rooted in corruption', he also didn't use the expression, "to pluck it and throw..". But Purandeshwari added those to please the TDP and Jana Sena folks listening to Modi's speech, the majority of whom don't understand Hindi.

Thus Purandeshwari, who translated the rest of the speech normally, added some extra words and expressions when it came to criticism of the existing government in AP.

It is pleasing to the supporters of TDP and Jana Sena and amusing to the detractors.
