There is a possibility of a change in the AP BJP leadership soon. It is rumored that Daggubati Purandeshwari may be replaced by former Chief Minister Nallari Kirankumar Reddy.
Handing over the reins of the BJP to Kiran Kumar Reddy is seen as a strategy to attract the Reddy community. This is why it is believed that the BJP's national leadership is leaning towards him.
It is reported that BJP leaders have already hinted to Kiran Kumar Reddy about this.
Notably, Kiran Kumar Reddy has begun discussions with some senior YCP leaders even before officially taking on the leadership of the AP BJP. How far he can go in attracting YCP leaders to join the BJP remains uncertain.
Before the elections, there was talk that Kiran would be given the leadership of the AP BJP, but Purandeshwari continued in the role.
In the elections, Kiran contested from the Rajampet Parliamentary seat but lost, while Purandeshwari won from Rajahmundry.
Although she had hoped for a ministerial position, the national leadership was not inclined to grant her one.
If Kiran Kumar Reddy is entrusted with the responsibilities of the AP BJP, it remains to be seen whether any new developments will unfold.
