Punganuru Riots Accused Surrenders To Police

Punganuru riots accused and TDP incharge, Challa Babu, also known as Ramachandra Reddy, surrendered to the local police on Monday, one month after the incident.

The TDP attempted to enter Punganuru town with party chief N Chandrababu Naidu's arrival there. Although they were initially scheduled to take the bypass road, they changed their plan and tried to enter the town.

This decision sparked heated arguments between the police and TDP activists. Furious TDP activists pelted stones and hurled aerated bottles at the police.

Approximately 20 police personnel were injured, and one of them lost their vision during the riots.

The police have filed cases against 260 TDP activists, including Challa Babu and others, including Chandrababu Naidu.

So far, the police have arrested 110 individuals and have yet to apprehend the remaining suspects.

Challa Babu is facing accusations in several cases, including the attack on the Rompicherla police station in 1985, Chowdepalli police station, Somala police station, and Kalluru police station.
