Pro-Jagan officers feeling the heat?

IAS and IPS officers who were close to the Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh over the past five years are now feeling the pressure from the newly-formed Telugu Desam Party government, headed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

In a brief meeting with the heads of various departments, including special chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and secretaries, Naidu made it clear that those who had blindly followed Jagan Mohan Reddy's line would not be spared.

This was evident when Naidu declined to accept a bouquet from Special Chief Secretary (Municipal Administration and Urban Development) Y. Srilakshmi and refused an appointment to senior IPS officer P. S. R. Anjaneyulu. This indicates that they, among others, will likely face repercussions in the coming days.

Even before Naidu officially took charge, officers like D. Vasudeva Reddy, Managing Director of AP Beverages Corporation, former CID Chief N. Sanjay, DIG Kolli Raghurami Reddy, and former DGP K. V. Rajendranath Reddy were removed from their positions.

Sources indicate that many of these officers have applied for either central deputation or inter-state deputation, anticipating that they would be relegated to insignificant posts.

Srilakshmi, who has one more year of service remaining, might opt for voluntary retirement on health grounds, according to sources.
