Prominent Telugu NRI from US Pratap Bhimireddy is learn to have been appointed as the chairman of AP Invest, a single window facility of the Andhra Pradesh government aimed at bringing in more investments into the state.
According to reliable sources, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has finalized the name of Pratap for the AP Invest chairman post.
Orders to this effect are likely to be issued soon after Jagan returns to India after holidaying in the US.
Pratap, who settled in Dallas of Texas State in the US, was running a firm Source Lead Inc. He started business intelli in 2006.
He has been playing active role in North America Telugu Association for a long time and is a diehard supporter of YSR Congress party.
AP Invest was established by Jagan’s father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in 2005.
It was meant to be facilitating investments in eight sectors such as IT and IT Enabled Services, food processing and horticulture, tourism, retail and real estate, education and health services, pharma and biotechnology and textiles and leather.
AP Invest will be a single window facility, which would go to the industry outside the state and the country to woo in more investors.
Any potential entrepreneur will be approached by AP Invest to invest in the state. The society will further take care of post-investment needs, as well as act as an investment ombudsman.
