The elections are over, and now it's all about betting until the results are out on June 4th.
Betting has been happening on various parameters, with participants ranging from auto drivers to NRIs placing their stakes.
While there are some organized betting stations, there are also informal gatherings treating it like a kitty party.
For example, in Prakasam district, a group of 80 women have made a bet of Rs 80 lakh (Rs 1 lakh each) on the YSRCP’s victory, while a group of 5 women has bet Rs 1.2 crore against them, on the TDP’s victory.
If the 80 women win, they will receive Rs 1.5 lakh each in addition to keeping their original investment safe, resulting in a 1:1.5 ratio game.
Betting of this kind is occurring across the districts in Andhra Pradesh.
The confidence expressed by Jagan Mohan Reddy, stating that he would win 150-plus seats, has encouraged betting on a larger scale than imagined.
On the other hand, the opinions and surveys from the TDP media are also pushing many into betting to try their luck.
