Srivatsavai Satyanarayana Varma, popularly known as S. V. S. N. Varma, is more prominently known as Pithapuram Varma.
The word 'Pithapuram' is so strongly associated with his name that it resembles the case of 'Bilahari' Ganapati Sastri character, in Chiranjeevi's film Rudraveena (1988).
In that film, someone takes away the title 'Bilahari' from him, reducing him to just Ganapati Sastri as part of a betrayal.
Now, with the entry of Pawan Kalyan, Pithapuram Varma has similarly lost his identity and has become simply Varma.
Yes, Varma is the person who sacrificed his MLA seat to Pawan Kalyan under pressure from his party head, Chandrababu, as part of the tripartite alliance.
In response, both Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan promised him an MLC seat and a ministry.
But till now, that hasn’t happened.
Now, the opportunity has come as some MLC seats are becoming vacant. Many, including Jana Sena and TDP supporters, expected Varma to get an MLC seat. But he was totally ignored, and a team from TDP came to console him.
Talking to his mates, Varma said it seems he was taught a bitter lesson for believing in TDP and sacrificing his seat to Pawan Kalyan.
He is lamenting badly about this. His sacrifice received no answer but insult in the form of silence, while Nagababu, who sacrificed nothing, has gotten the MLC seat.
Gossips say that Pawan Kalyan and some Jana Sena leaders obstructed Varma's MLC opportunity to avoid the emergence of a second power center in Pithapuram, parallel to Pawan Kalyan.
If that is true, then it is an unforgivable betrayal.
