Pawan Tweets In English Against English!

Ever since YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy made a scathing attack on his detractors for criticising his decision to introduce English medium compulsorily in all the government schools, Jana Sena Party president and actor Pawan Kalyan has been coming out with a series of tweets against Jagan.

Pawan was obviously hurt by the comments of Jagan, referring to the former’s three wives and five children. He was trying to create an impression that he was maintaining a lot of restraint.

But looking by his series of tweets, it appears he was very much frustrated with Jagan’s comments.

He started with cutting and pasting of TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh’s tweets with previous paper clippings of Sakshi which criticised then chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s similar move to introduce English medium in schools.

“YCP’s stand regarding medium of teaching when they were in opposition,” said his first tweet with attached clipping of Sakshi borrowed from Lokesh.

“One more article reflecting YCP’s hypocrisy then and now,” said the next tweet with another clipping of Sakshi posted by Lokesh.

He also posted another news clipping mentioning comments of Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, presently AP Official Languages Commission chairman, opposing Naidu’s move in the past.

“We have to learn how to safeguard and promote one’s own mother tongue by looking at Kannadigas, Marathis, Tamils and Hindi speaking Indians,” he said in another tweet.

Interestingly, all tweets of Pawan were in English, while he is opposing English medium for teaching, though he could have tweeted in Telugu as well, if he has so much love for the language.

He also attached the pictures of Telugu books like those of poet Bala Gangadhara Tilak, Suryarayandhra Nighantuvu etc.

May be someone has pointed this out to him. Suddenly, he started tweeting in Telugu as well, reminding Jagan about the establishment of a library at Kadapa by C P Brown, which had 66,000 Telugu books.

“An English gentleman C P Brown could do so much for our own Telugu language and it is sad our own Telugu leaders planning to wipe it out (sic),” he commented.

“It is sad that YCP leader comes from Kadapa and yet ignores Telugu,” he said.
