Pawan to Vijayawada, cadre not euphoric!

Till the last assembly elections in 2019, whenever power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan came to any part of Andhra Pradesh, it used to generate a lot of euphoria among his fans and Jana Sena party workers.

Right from the Gannavaram airport to his party office at Mangalagiri in Guntur district, one would witness big cut-outs of Pawan Kalyan extending grand welcome for him.

There used to be a large number of vehicles in his convoy all along the route.

The party cadre were making massive arrangements for his tours, wherever he went and addressed public meetings.

And there used to be huge crowds to listen to the typical filmy style dialogues of Pawan Kalyan.

But all that euphoria is missing now, after the Jana Sena’s debacle in the elections.

While the cadre is completely demoralised, Pawan Kalyan, too, has been hardly coming to the party office.

He might have come to the state, perhaps for half a dozen times in the last two years.

Naturally, the party cadre also lost interest in Pawan Kalyan’s visit.

So, when he chose to come to Vijayawada on Saturday to take part in the Independence Day celebrations at his Mangalagiri party office, the glory that he used to enjoy during his visits in the past was glaringly missing.

Pawan is expected to have a meeting with some important leaders of the party to discuss the latest political situation in the state and the policies of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

But there has been no information to the party cadre as to what programmes he is going to take up against the government and what they should do.

“One wonders why Pawan Kalyan has been silent on fighting against the Jagan government when there are several burning issues concerning the people. In the absence of any programmes, the Jana Sena cadre, too, has not shown any interest in according any welcome to Pawan,” a party leader said.

Interestingly, there is no information even to the local Bharatiya Janata Party leaders about Pawan’s visit to Vijayawada, though both the parties are supposed to be political allies.

Even if they have, they are least bothered about him, as they are treating him as a non-serious politician.
