It was only very recently that megastar and former Union minister K Chiranjeevi made it clear in an interview that he won’t return to politics again in his life time. He said in no unambiguous words that politics won’t suit his mindset.
“I have realised that politics was not my cup of tea. There is no question of going back into political field once again. I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in politics. Even in my next birth, I wish I would be a film actor,” Chiranjeevi said in the interview given to actress Samantha for an OTT show.
So, when his younger brother and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan told media on Friday that he had full support of his mega brother in politics, it raised many eyebrows.
He went on to say that he cannot immediately say whether or when Chiranjeevi would join Jana Sena Party and that it was for his brother to decide.
He was reacting to a statement given by his party senior Nadendla Manohar that Chiranjeevi was giving backroom support to Pawan.
Interestingly, even BJP state president Somu Veerraju said recently that Chiranjeevi would extend support to Jana Sena-BJP combine and that would be a big asset for them in the elections.
The statements from Jana Sena Party chief, his colleague and the BJP president make one wonder why they are trying to play Chiranjeevi card now.
In fact, the megastar clearly told Samantha in his interview that he would not join any political party, even Jana Sena Party floated by his brother.
The only positive point for Pawan is that Chiranjeevi appreciated the efforts of his younger brother to prove himself in politics.
“I am confident he would get the result for his immense hard work in the coming days,” he said
Apparently, Jana Sena and BJP leaders are of the view that Chiranjeevi’s name would fetch them considerable mileage for the party in the ensuing by-election to Tirupati Lok Sabha seat.
The megastar had represented Tirupati assembly constituency in the past and still has a lot of fan following there.
Secondly, if Chiranjeevi supports Pawan Kalyan if not joining the Jana Sena, it would help consolidate the Kapus once again. And that would be of great help to Jana Sena-BJP combine!
