Starting Wednesday, Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan will be going on a temple tour across South India for four days, triggering speculations in the political circles about a possible mission as part of Operation Lotus of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
According to reports, Pawan will visit major temples in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, including Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple at Thiruvananthapuram, Meenakshi temple at Madurai, Sri Parasurama Swamy Temple at Thiruvallam, Agastya Jeeva Samadhi and Kombeswara Temple in Thiruvaduthurai, near Kumbakonam, Swamimalai Temple at Kumbakonam and Subramanya Swamy Temple at Tiruthani in Tamil Nadu.
Though the Jana Sena Party leaders say it is a personal temple tour of Pawan Kalyan for spiritual enlightenment, there is a talk in the political circles that it could be part of the larger mission of the BJP to strengthen the party in the south.
It may be recalled that after taking office as the Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan undertook the 'Varahi Deeksha' and later observed a penance in response to the Tirupati Laddu controversy.
