Pawan Kalyan still uncertain on alliances

Pawan Kalyan still uncertain on alliances

Even as the elections to the Andhra Pradesh assembly are fast approaching, there is still a lot of uncertainty in the opposition camp – whether there would be an alliance among the Telugu Desam Party, Jana Sena Party and Bharatiya Janata Party and if at all there is an alliance, how the equations would be.

On Friday, Jana Sena Party chief and power star Pawan Kalyan still added more confusion to the already prevailing confusing situation.

He said there was no clarity yet on how the alliances would work out before the elections.

“Discussions are still going on with regard to forging alliance. There has not yet been any clarity on how the next government would be – whether it would be that of Jana Sena-BJP or Jana Sena-BJP-TDP. It would be known only after finalising the alliances,” Pawan Kalyan said, speaking to reporters at Visakhapantam.

He, however, said the alliances would be worked out in such a way that they would change the destiny of the state by defeating the YSRCP government headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Pawan Kalyan reiterated that he was ready to accept the post of chief minister if such a situation arises.

“I have already made by intentions clear on the CM post. But it is possible, only if the people give me mandate to that extent,” he said.

The Jana Sena chief said the decision on the chief minister post will be taken in accordance with the wishes of the MLAs after elections.

“Our focus right now is to defeat the YSRCP and strengthen the leadership in the state. We are trying in that direction,” he asserted.

He said right from the beginning, he had been questioning any political party that was in power in the state, if it made mistakes.

“When the people give a huge mandate of 151 seats to the YSRC government, it can rule the state in an excellent way. I would not have raised my voice at all. But now, I feel the TDP government was much better compared to the YSRC government,” he said.
