In a swift and sudden development, Jana Sena Party president and power star Pawan Kalyan flew to New Delhi on Monday, apparently to hold meetings with top bosses of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On Sunday, Pawan Kalyan had been in Udaipur, Rajasthan, apparently for a film shoot. He then received a call from top BJP leaders in Delhi and rushed there on Monday morning.
At the same time, Jana Sena Party Political Affairs Committee Chairman Nadendla Manohar left Hyderabad for Delhi.
Both of them are expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President J P Nadda. They may also meet a couple of other senior leaders of the party.
While the general talk is that Pawan and Nadendla would discuss the prevailing political situation in Andhra Pradesh, it is expected that the issue of whether the Jana Sena Party would like to continue its alliance with the BJP would also come up for discussion.
Though Pawan has good relations with the BJP leaders in Delhi, he is terribly upset with the local BJP leaders in Andhra, as they have not provided any cooperation nor responded to his call for a road map to fight against the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
At the same time, the BJP leaders are also not taking kindly to Pawan's newfound love towards the Telugu Desam Party led by former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. This matter is also expected to be discussed during Monday's meetings between the BJP leaders and Pawan Kalyan.
Whether Pawan might be able to convince the BJP over the need to ally with Naidu or whether he will snap ties with the BJP altogether will be known after his Delhi visit, say party sources.
