Is the BJP national leadership thinking of using the services of power star of Telugu films and Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan for campaigning in other states like Bihar and Tamil Nadu?
One would get the doubt after seeing the orders issued by the Union home ministry on Sunday providing Z category security to Pawan Kalyan.
A letter to this effect was written by the Union home secretary to all the director generals of police of various states.
Z category involves a security detail of 22 personnel, including four or give commandoes belonging to National Security Guards besides police personnel.
There will be two to eight armed guards at his residence, two personal security officers round the clock and an armed escort of one to three personnel on all journeys.
What is interesting is that the Union home ministry indicated that Pawan would be touring various places across the country, along with Telugu states. It does mean Pawan might be planning to tour different parts of the country.
This is surprising, because Pawan has been confining himself to Hyderabad and hardly seen in public these days.
He has only been issuing statements and conducting zoom conferences with his party leaders, but not meeting anybody.
May be, the BJP wants him to take part in campaigning in other states. Since there is a security threat for him in many states, the Centre doesn’t want to take chances and hence has given him Z category security.
