After a brief period of silence, actor-turned-Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan was back on streets on Tuesday to take up the cause of agitating Amaravati farmers, but has become a subject for hard-hitting attack by the ruling YSR Congress party leaders.
Even as Pawan Kalyan was trying to stage a big drama on the streets of Mandadam village in Amaravati when the police blocked his convoy, YSR Congress party MLA Jogi Ramesh lashed out at the power star for creating nuisance to gain political mileage.
“What was Pawan Kalyan doing for four years during the Chandrababu Naidu regime, when nothing had happened in Amaravati? Was he busy biting his own nails? He cannot stay in the field even for a few hours. He cannot bear the pain of even a thorn,” Ramesh said.
The YSRC MLA said Pawan was unfit for politics.
“He is fit only for changing the make-up and costumes in films and also for changing wives in the real life. He is not suitable for politics,” he alleged.
Describing Jana Sena chief as a “pichi Tughlaq” (mad fellow), Ramesh said the YSRC had no locus standi in Amaravati.
“This fellow could not win even a single seat out of the two he had contested. We know our strength. Our party has won 151 seats in the assembly and in future, this number will only go up. We don’t need to learn from Pawan Kalyan on development front,” the YSRC leader said.
He asserted that neither Jagan nor any other minister had ever said Amaravati would be dumped as the capital.
“Our only objective is to develop all parts of the state. We are committed for decentralised development,” Ramesh said.
