Power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan’s latest comments on the Bharatiya Janata Party indicating a possible break-up with it has created ripples in the saffron party.
Pawan expressed unhappiness over the way the BJP leadership was not cooperating with Jana Sena in its fight against the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government and said somewhere something was wrong with the BJP.
He also indicated that the BJP was not suggesting any route map for Jana Sena on how to go about and that he can no more play a second fiddle to the saffron party. Within an hour of saying this, Pawan had a meeting with Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
Following this, the BJP leadership has become alert and it called party Andhra unit president Somu Veerraju to Delhi to get a report on the developments. This has triggered ripples in the party.
Former BJP state president Kanna Laxminarayana blamed it on Veerraju for the latest developments. He alleged that state leadership headed by Veerraju failed to maintain friendly relationship with Pawan Kalyan.
“The whole problem in the state BJP is with Somu Veeerraju. He has become the sole authority in the party and nobody else knows what is happening in the party at all. It is time the BJP national leadership focus on strengthening the party in the state,” Kanna said.
Sources said Kanna is planning to hold a meeting of his supporters and other important leaders of the party who are upset with the style of functioning of Veerraju soon and expected to take key decisions.
Meanwhile, sources said the BJP national leadership has called Pawan Kalyan to New Delhi for fresh negotiations in the wake of the latest developments so that the gap between the BJP and Jana Sena can be bridged.
It is not immediately known whether and when Pawan would be leaving for New Delhi for the talks.
