There has been an unending debate over why power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan is back into acting in films, after announcing two years ago that he was relinquishing films to take active part in politics.
Whether he has returned to film industry only to buy time till the next elections or because of his failure in politics is a matter of debate, but Pawan was sincere in admitting that he is doing films only for the sake of money and not because he has so much love for the film industry.
Addressing party workers at Vijayawada on Saturday, Pawan reiterated that he has decided to act in films again only to earn money for his livelihood.
“I have no other job to earn money. If I don’t earn, how can I take care of my family needs and pay school fees for my children? If I can’t take care of my children, I will lose respect on myself,” he asked.
He said if he had assets worth thousands of crores of rupees and income of Rs one crore every month, there was no need for him to act in films.
“Since I don’t have other sources of income, I am forced to do films to run the family, the party and support many people who are depending on me. If I am worried about my own self, I would not have launched Jana Sena Party at all,” Pawan explained.
He also took pot shots at former CBI joint director V V Lakshminaryana, who resigned from the party in protest against his return to film industry.
“I don’t care about people who joined the party in the last minute before the elections and are now criticising that they don’t like my policies. If people don’t like the party philosophy, they will not sail with us. Nobody will be forced to continue in the party,” he said.
