It is now certain that megastar Chiranjeevi won’t be campaigning for his younger brother and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan, who is contesting the assembly elections from Pithapuram constituency in East Godavari district.
This was confirmed by Chiranjeevi himself.
“No, I am not going to Pithapuram to campaign for my brother in the elections. Pawan has given me that comfort. In fact, he has never asked me to come to Pithapuram and campaign for him,” he said.
The megastar, however, said he strongly desired that his brother Pawan Kalyan wins the elections from Pithapuram.
“That is why I made an open appeal to the people to vote for him. My support is always there for him,” he said.
Chiranjeevi, however, refused to talk on the ongoing elections in Andhra Pradesh and its outcome.
“I am not in any political party right now. So, I cannot comment (on who will win) on the elections,” he said.
Interestingly, megastar’s wife Surekha and his son Ram Charan will be going to Pithapuram on Saturday.
Though there is no clarity as to whether they would meet Pawan Kalyan or speak to the people on supporting the Jana Sena chief, the fact that they are going to Pithapuram on the last day of campaign itself shows that they are on a political mission.
In fact, Ram Charan has already tweeted on his social media handle and extended support to Pawan Kalyan.
His cousin Allu Arjun also extended his best wishes to the power star, while other mega family heroes Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej and Vaishnav Tej took part in the campaign at Pithapuram.
According to reports, Ram Charan, along with Surekha are going to Pithapuram via Rajahmundry on Saturday to conduct special prayers at Kukkuteshwara temple.
“They may meet Pawan Kalyan and convey their best wishes to him. It is not immediately known whether Ram Charan will speak to the media or address the local people there,” sources said.
