Pawan Compares AP With Pakistan!

At a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party is adopting a cautious approach over the alleged desecration of idols of gods in various temples in Andhra Pradesh in a pre-planned strategy, its alliance partner -- power star and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has chosen to make aggressive attack on the YSR Congress party government in the state.

In a late-night statement on Friday, Pawan compared Andhra Pradesh with Pakistan with regard to demolition of idols of gods in Hindu temples in the state.

“It is unfortunate that the Andhra government has welcomed the New Year with demolition of Lord Rama idol,” he criticised.

He said there had been reports about destruction of temples and desecration of Hindu gods in Pakistan.

“Now, we are witnessing the same situation in Andhra Pradesh. There have been instances of attacks on temples, desecration of Hindu gods and burning of chariots. Are we in Pakistan?” he asked.

Stating that Lord Rama is treated as the most revered god and people take Him as a role model, Pawan wondered whether the Jagan government was trying to erase the reverence towards Lord Rama in Andhra.

“It is clearly evident that there has been a systematic attack on the temples in the state. The government has failed to create a congenial atmosphere wherein people of one religion respected the sentiments of other religion,” he alleged.

He also found fault with Jagan’s statement that God himself would punish those who played with the religious sentiments.

“Such statements cannot control the attacks on temples. The police machinery should take stern action against the culprits,” Pawan said.
