At a time when the ruling Telugu Desam Party and opposition YSR Congress party stepped up their preparations for the ensuing general elections in Andhra Pradesh, Jana Sena Party headed by actor Pawan Kalyan seems to be lagging far behind its opponents.
Both the TDP and YSRC have already started finalizing their lists of candidates.
While YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has already launched his election campaign in the name of “Samara Sankharaavam,” TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu also has announced that he would hit the roads from March 13.
Both the parties are getting ready with their election manifestos shortly. On the other hand, Jana Sena chief is not able to come out with any new promise to appease the people.
The non-seriousness of Pawan was evident from his announcement on Saturday that if his party is voted to power, he would ensure payment of Rs 8,000 per acre to each farmer every year as an investment support fund.
He also assured that he would get the employment guarantee programme to be linked to agriculture sector.
What is so great about these promises?
The first one has already been under implementation in Telangana for the last one year and very recently, the Andhra Pradesh government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu has also started implementing it under “Annadata Sukhibhava” scheme, while the Centre introduced a similar scheme in the name of PM-Kisan scheme.
Even the YSR Congress party president announced the implementation of the scheme during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra padayatra. He assured to provide Rs 12,500 as investment support fund to every farmer in the state.
So, whom does Pawan want to fool with his so-called new promise which is already under implementation?
