Opinion: Nara Lokesh's Stanford Secret

Opinion: Nara Lokesh's Stanford Secret

The moment Kodali Nani, the Civil Supplies Minister hinted that Nara Lokesh Babu obtained seat in Stanford University with the aid of Satyam Ramalinga Raju, there has been a big hue and cry from a few social media groups.

Some guys took it too personal and asked if Nani can pronounce or spell the word 'Stanford'. That's an emotional reaction. Surprisingly, some educated lot are also not getting the point of how difficult it is to get into Stanford had Lokesh isn't the son of Chandrababu Naidu.

I have been living in the USA from the last 27 years. The sons and daughters of my friends and colleagues here made many unsuccessful attempts to get into Stanford. I mean to say those kids are born and brought up here with top academic record, loads of effective communication skills, clarity in thought, business understanding, individuality and confidence.

Getting into Stanford Business School is not as easy as getting into any top American University to do an MS graduation. Recording a highest score in the written tests like GMAT isn't enough here. Even the financial power of any level cannot help to buy a paid seat in management quota like in some Indian colleges.

One has to have extreme knowledge in the required domains, smartness in quick understanding of a case to be studied and comprehensive analytical skills with required logic are highly essential to procure an admission in main stream. The tests stand too vigorous that even the guys with the higher IQ levels find them taxing to their heads.

I am not here to offend anyone. Just to make the case understand, I have a simple question. Is there any occasion where Nara Lokesh has shown his impressive communication skills? Is there any situation where we felt that he is better than KTR of Telangana in handling the business summits? It should be reckoned that KTR did his MBA from The City College of New York which has a global ranking of around #650, whereas Stanford ranks No#2 as of now. The kind of language he uses on twitter can also be compared to that of KTR's tweets, to understand where his IQ levels stand. The bottom line is that Lokesh Naidu never appeared like an alumnus of Stanford University.

So, excepting the offending and disgraceful language, I don't find any misleading or false statement in Kodali Nani's point of Lokesh getting into Stanford.
