Jr NTR is like a floating log in the middle of the ocean for the TDP leaders now. The log can prevent someone from drowning for a few hours but it can no way take him to the shore like a ship. Let us analyze in detail.
Many TDP leaders are upset with the present party leadership and unanimously calling Jr NTR to rescue them. Some sections of people are assuming that the actor would come as Bahubali to save the party.
First of all, Jr NTR's power is not sufficient to bring any change. He campaigned for the party in 2009 elections on the request of Chandrababu. But the party has lost elections even in the places where he campaigned. Besides, he met with a serious accident during the campaign and the sympathy wave also didn't work at all.
Still, the TDP leaders are believing that he is the only hope now. But Jr NTR can never lead TDP. Here is the reason.
Chandrababu Naidu has built the legal firewalls so strongly that none can backstab him and take away the party from him like he did to Sr NTR in 1996. No revolt within the party can change the leadership.
Until and unless Chandrababu crowns someone as the party head, none can dream about being the successor of TDP.
Even under sheer pressure, he cannot make the historical mistake by crowing Jr NTR instead of his son Lokesh Naidu.
In case, he succumbs to the pressure of his party men and invites Jr NTR, it is needless to say that Chandrababu himself will be confirming that his son is politically unfit to shoulder the party. That leaves a permanent black mark on Lokesh Naidu in the history of Andhra Pradesh. So, Chandrababu can never make such a mistake. Instead of passing on the party to someone else, he would rather wish to bury it with himself, in the interest of his son's image.
So, there is no other choice left for the present TDP leaders than finding their ways into other parties instead of hanging on to this drowning party.
If at all, Jr NTR has political dreams, he has to float his own party like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan and Jagan Mohan Reddy but cannot dream about holding the handle of the yellow cycle. No grandfather sentiment can work here.
