Opinion: Jagan Was Loud And Clear On Capital

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was loud and clear in his plans on decentralisation of administration and the three capitals.

He spoke at length in the Assembly on Thursday stating that every village and every acre of land in the state is important to him and not just 29 villages and 54,000 acres of Amaravati.

He further said that the three capitals decision had historical and practical background where several agreements were signed by elders in the past and the three regions in the state have different socio-economic background.

He asserted that the government has every right to take policy decisions within its limits keeping in view the promises made to the people and the future of the state.

We have the entire state to be developed not just one area or one region, he asserted and reiterated his government’s commitment to the three capitals proposal.

Jagan further said that he has special love for Amaravati for which reason he built his house here and wants to have the Assembly continued here.

“I have built my house here not Chandrababu Naidu. I want to develop this area too on par with the rest of the state,” he said.

He said that his government too has some policies on which people have voted his party to power.

People have given us power because they wanted a change in the government, which means change in the policies, he said.
