The Oberoi Group had decided to invest Rs 1,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh and build five hotels.
Group president and chief operating officer, Rajaraman Shankar, met chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday at the camp office at Tadepalli.
The group president expressed the company’s decision to invest in the hospitality sector in the state.
Shankar told the chief minister that they would establish star hotels at five places in the state, besides opening a tourism centre in the Paderu area.
The star hotels would come up at Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Gandikota, Picchukalanka and Horsely Hills.
All the five hotels would be of 7-star hotels, the group president told the chief minister.
The chief minister welcomed the Oberoi Group to invest in the state. He said that the state government would extend support to the group in establishing the hotels and the tourism centre.
The chief minister also told the tourism special chief secretary Dr Rajat Bhargava, to open single window to help the group.
He wanted the special chief secretary to clear all applications of the group to establish hotels in the state.
