NTR following Pawan Kalyan route?

NTR following Pawan Kalyan route?

In Telugu film industry, power star Pawan Kalyan has his own style. Similarly, NTR has developed his own image as a mass hero.

Both of them have grown up in the industry in their own way.

Pawan and NTR also have similarity in another issue. During 2009 assembly elections in the combined Andhra Pradesh, NTR campaigned extensively for the TDP established by his grandfather senior N T Rama Rao.

He put in a lot of effort to secure victory for the TDP, but did not succeed.

Similarly, Pawan Kalyan also toiled day and night for the victory of Praja Rajyam Party established by his mega brother Chiranjeevi and toured all over the state. But his efforts, too, did not yield any results.

Later, Pawan Kaltan established his own party – Jana Sena – and is still struggling to give it some footing in Andhra Pradesh.

He has come out of the shadow of his elder brother and is making his own efforts to prove his political capabilities, but has not met with any success.

Interestingly, certain developments that took place before the launch of Jana Sena Party by Pawan Kalyan, seem to be repeating now in case of NTR as well.

It may be a coincidence but is also significant, politically.

During the days of launching Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan used to hold regular interactions with his fans’ associations while continuing shooting for films.

Every day, he used to hold meetings with representatives of fans’ associations from each district on the shooting set itself.

He used to have lunch with his fans, take pictures with them and give them directions on how to go about with the political activity in their respective districts.

All these things used to happen during the interregnum of his shooting schedules.

Those days, the sets were buzzing with the political activity of Pawan Kalyan. Subsequently, he launched Jana Sena Party amidst a lot of fanfare.

Now, one can witness similar scenes in the case of NTR as well.

He has been meeting people from his fans’ associations, interacting with various sections of people, posing for photographs with them, extending them help in various forms and giving them appointments to some of them repeatedly.

All these are happening during his shooting. Never in the past did one see such hectic activity in the shootings of NTR.

Naturally, it is evoking a lot of curiosity among the people in the film industry.

One fails to understand what NTR actually has in his mind: whether he wants to launch his own political party on the lines of Pawan Kalyan and his grandfather or whether he is making backroom efforts to strengthen the TDP, or whether he is creating his own power centre within the TDP by next elections.

Though it is evident that NTR is up to something, it still remains a suspense for now what he is planning to do.

Whether it is Pawan Kalyan or NTR, both have a godly image among their fans. Both of them have carved a niche for themselves in the film industry and have huge fan following.

But Pawan Kalyan has failed to convert this fan following into a strong political cadre.

The fans were no doubt made a frenzied campaign praising him as the next chief minister, but they could not get him elected even from one assembly constituency.

NTR – if he has any such plans to enter politics – should learn a lesson or two from Pawan Kalyan.

He should know the knack of converting his mass image in films into a political support.

Only then he would succeed in politics – whether he is in the TDP or he launches his own party.

Every experience of Pawan has to be a lesson for NTR!
