Nothing personal against Modi, says Naidu!

As the pressure has been mounting on Telugu Desam Party on all sides with a series of Income Tax, CBI and Enforcement Directorate raids on the party leaders in Andhra and Telangana, TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu appears to be scary.

Unlike in the past, Naidu has not been talking so aggressively against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the last few days.

He is primarily targeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi to whip up Andhra sentiment and accusing it of helping YSR Congress party. He is confining his criticism against Modi only to special category status and other issues pertaining to implementation of promises made in the bifurcation act.

On Sunday, too, Naidu sought to give an explanation for his criticism against Modi. He said he had no personal rivalry with Narendra Modi but was only questioning the injustice done to the people of the state.

“I am opposing Modi only for the sake of Andhra people as he has been taking revenge on AP people for asking him to fulfil the state bifurcation promises,” he said.

He alleged that Modi had betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh people and said there was no security for minorities in the NDA regime.

“It is not proper for the Prime Minister to target the TDP leaders just because I am questioning his policies,” he said.

The TDP chief said YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was afraid of Modi.

“In the past, he said it was a battle between Delhi and Kadapa. Now, he is not uttering a single word against the Centre. He fears that Modi would send him behind the bars,” Naidu said.
