Not afraid of cases, will return to power: Jogi

Senior YSR Congress party leader and former minister Jogi Ramesh is confident that he will come out of the false cases being filed against him by the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government and said the TDP would have to pay heavy penalty for its vindictive politics.

Jogi Ramesh appeared before the CID in connection with the case related to the alleged attack on the residence of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu during the previous YSRCP government.

After the interrogation, Ramesh told the media that he had appeared in compliance with the notice issued by CID officials as per Supreme Court directions. He mentioned that he had answered all the questions posed by the CID.

“I went to Chandrababu Naidu’s residence to protest against the comments made by Ch Ayanna Patrudu back then. I did not attack anyone. It was the TDP leaders who smashed the windows of my car and attacked my people. Our presence was purely to express dissent,” he said.

He alleged that the CID is trying to make this into a big issue with these notices, but I am not afraid of anyone.

“I have been active in the Krishna district politics since the days of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. These cases cannot do anything to me,” he said.

He warned that using power to register cases against opponents is temporary and reminded that people voted for governance, but instead there were lootings, murders, and assaults taking place in the state.

Ramesh criticized the TDP, saying it had fallen to the bottom in just 10 months.  The ruling party leaders were fighting for power and being desperate to plunder resources.

He questioned the timing and frequency of notices being issued in old cases. Expressing confidence, he said, “They can’t do anything to us. We will come back to power.”

He targeted Nara Lokesh, saying, “How long will you roam around with that red book? One day you will have to fold it and put it away.” He concluded by saying that the world is round and nothing stays the same forever.

“You may carry the red book for a year or two, but will you carry it for five years?” he asked.

He firmly predicted that the YSRCP would rise again like a flag flying high and return to power.
