For the last few days, senior Telugu Desam Party leader and Tadipatri municipal council chairman J C Prabhakar Reddy has been going all out to pamper party general secretary Nara Lokesh, who has been undertaking padayatra in Anantapur district.
Even on Friday, Prabhakar Reddy went emotional and said he was in tears on seeing the hard work of Lokesh.
“Despite having sun burns on his feet, he is walking relentlessly. Lokesh is a Karma Yogi,” he said.
The JC brother also walked along with Lokesh for some distance, while his son J C Asmith Reddy walked for three days in Tadipatri area. Obviously, Prabhakar Reddy is expecting the party ticket to his son Asmith Reddy in the next elections.
But Prabhakar Reddy’s nephew (Ex-MP J C Diwakar Reddy’s son) J C Pavan Reddy, though a popular TDP youth leader in the district, stayed away from Lokesh padayatra.
According to party sources, Pavan has been sulking, after TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu reportedly told him that he won’t be given ticket in the assembly elections from Anantapur this time.
Apparently, Naidu has already given an assurance to former MLA V Prabhakar Chowdary for the party ticket from Anantapur assembly constituency, for which Pavan was lobbying intensely. When Naidu told him his compulsions, Pavan has been staying away from the party activities.
At the same time, Diwakar Reddy is also said to be upset with Naidu. Though he said he won’t be contesting the next elections, he was expecting that if not the MLA ticket, his son Pavan would be given the party ticket for Anantapur Lok Sabha seat.
However, Naidu is not interested in Pavan. He is learnt to have decided to give the party ticket for Anantapur Lok Sabha seat to Putta Mahesh Yadav, son of former TTD board chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav. Mahesh also happens to be son-in-law of former finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
In fact, Mahesh Yadav was originally tipped for Narasaraopet parliamengary constituency for which he lobbied with AP TDP president K Atchannaidu. Even Yananmala is learnt to have asked for Narsaraopet seat for Mahesh Yadav.
But Naidu has decided to shift him to Anantapur due to caste equations. That would mean the end of role for Diwakar Reddy and his family in Anantapur politics.
