After maintaining silence for quite some time, actor and firebrand YSR Congress party MLA from Nagari assembly constituency R K Roja was at her acerbic best in attacking Telugu Desam Party led by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Roja was reacting strongly to the harsh comments made by TDP general secretary and Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh during the election campaign in Kuppam municipal elections, which the YSRC is desperate to grab and deal a psychological blow to the TDP president.
Describing Lokesh as a fading light of a lamp, Roja said it appears the son was making all out efforts to finish the political life of his own father.
“It is for sure that the people of Kuppam would hound away Chandrababu Naidu. The dramas being enacted by the father-son will come to an end. After these elections, the TDP would have no history to write and no future to foresee,” she said.
The YSRC legislature said Lokesh was behaving like a street rowdy in the Kuppam municipal elections.
“Naidu was least bothered about the development of Kuppam. With what face is he asking for votes? The people have taught him a fitting lesson in the gram panchayat elections and later in the mandal parishad and zilla parishad elections. Yet, they are not ashamed,” she criticised.
She claimed that it was only after Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power that the people have started getting the benefits of welfare schemes.
“The people are now wondering why they had been voting for Naidu all these years,” she said.
