With Telugu Desam Party creating a ruckus over the gruesome killing of a Dalit engineering student Ramya by a stalker in Guntur town a couple of days ago creating troubles for the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, the YSR Congress party leadership roped in civil supplies minister Kodali Venkateshwara Rao alias Nani to launch a counter-attack.
Known for his foul-mouth character, Nani lashed out at TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh for playing “corpse politics” over the death of Ramya.
Reacting to Lokesh’s comments that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was not bothered to call on Ramya’s family, Nani wondered why Lokesh’s father and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu had not called on the victim’s family.
“There is no difference between the killer of Ramya and Chandrababu Naidu. If the stalker had stabbed the girl for love failure, Naidu had stabbed his father-in-law for power. He has no moral right to question the chief minister. If people like Naidu are sent to jail, such murder incidents would come down,” Nani said.
He demanded that before questioning the chief minister, Lokesh must question his father as to why he had not bothered to call on the family of Ramya.
“It is ridiculous on the part of Lokesh, who could not win even an MLA seat, to question the chief minister who got the massive mandate from the people,” the minister said.
Nani alleged that Naidu had sent his son to create a high drama on the murder incident and make wild comments against Jagan only to divert the attention of the people from the welfare schemes launched by the chief minister.
“A person who ruled the state for 14 years is now instigating his son to do “luchcha” activities to defame the Jagan government, despite the fact that the police had arrested the accused in the murder case within 12 hours,” Nani alleged.
