We have been witnessing leaders losing all forms of decency and abusing one another in Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of gram panchayat elections these days.
Irrespective of parties, these leaders are indulging in using foul language against their political rivals. Forget about leaders like Kodali Nani, Vellampalli Srinivas, P Anil Kumar from YSRC, Bonda Uma, Pattabhi and Atchan Naidu from the TDP, even TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is occasionally losing cool and using words like “Emi peekutharu..” (what do they pluck) etc.
Telangana leaders, too, are now proving that they are no inferior to their Andhra counterparts in abusing their rivals, irrespective of their party affiliations.
The other day, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao abused the opposition leaders with choicest epithets while addressing the public meeting at Halia, as part of electioneering for Nagarjunasagar by-elections.
He accused the Congress leaders of barking like dogs, mindless fellows and idiots. Obviously, there was a strong reaction from the Congress leaders. Senior Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy lashed out at KCR for equating the chief minister’s post with chappal of his left leg and calling the opposition leaders as dogs.
“If we are dogs, we have loyalty to the people. Dogs have loyalty to their masters. But KCR doesn’t have the loyalty towards the people,” he said.
PCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar, too, described KCR as a dog who had no loyalty. He also lashed out at KCR’s son K T Rama Rao for degrading the Telangana leaders of other parties, saying without KCR, there was no Telangana Congress and no Telangana BJP.
“If Sonia Gandhi had not given Telangana, what would have been the fate of the TRS? Where would KCR and KTR have been by now?” Ponnam asked.
