For quite some time there have been reports that YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is cosying up with the Bhartiya Janata Party and if possible, he might even join the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre.
At the same time, there have also been reports that even Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu is making a desperate attempt to return to the NDA fold and his moles in the BJP are preparing ground for the same.
However, Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party president Somu Veerraju asserted on Saturday that there was no question of entertaining the TDP again nor is there any scope for an alliance with the YSRC in the state.
“We have an alliance with the Jana Sena Party led by Pawan Kalyan and it will continue in future as well. We shall fight all the elections together. In future, too, we shall not have any alliance whatsoever with the YSRC. And the question of taking the TDP back into the NDA also doesn’t arise,” Veerraju said.
On the demand for separate Rayalaseema from a section of leaders, too, the BJP state president made it clear that the party would not support it.
“It is true that injustice has been meted out to Rayalaseema region for the last 50 years, but separate Rayalaseema is no solution for the same,” he said.
He demanded that the Jagan government pay special attention to the completion of irrigation projects in Rayalaseema.
“The kind of interest it has been showing on Polavaram should be shown in case of Rayalaseema projects as well,” Veerraju demanded.
