The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted surprise searches in the two Telugu states on Thursday.
The sleuths of the NIA searched at 39 places across the two Telugu states, looking for people connected to the banned Maoists.
The NIA had also arrested six persons, seized some material, alleging that they have connections with the Maoists.
The seized material included 40 mobiles, 70 hard discs, 44 mobile sim cards, 180 CDs, Rs 10 cash besides some literature belonging to the Maoists.
Searches were held in Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Kurnool and Kadapa districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Searches were also held in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Medchal districts of Andhra Pradesh.
It was for the first time that the NIA carried out searches and arrested persons in Maoists issue in the recent times.
