New twist to Viveka murder: Second wife to file case

Even as the Supreme Court is all set to take up hearing on Friday on an appeal filed by N Sunitha Reddy challenging the grant of protection from arrest till 25 April to YSR Congress party MP Y S Avinash Reddy in connection with the murder of her father and former MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy, the case is all set to take an interesting turn soon.

Sunitha filed the petition challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Avinash Reddy by the Telangana high court. A Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha said it would take up the hearing on Friday.

Simultaneously, the case is all set to get a major twist with Vivekananda Reddy’s supposed second wife reportedly deciding to move the high court asking for a share in his properties.

According to sources, Shameem whom Viveka had married illegally and her son Shahen Shah have decided to wage a legal battle stating that they were also legal heirs to his properties and hence, wanted a share in it.

In all probability, Shameem and Shahen Shah are going to file a petition in the Telangana high court. She is said to be discussing with the legal experts in this regard. Apparently, Viveka had signed a will distributing some of his properties in her favour.

She is now demanding that Viveka’s wife Sowbhagyamma and daughter Sunitha Reddy should part with their assets. She is also likely to file a petition asking for a DNA test to his son to prove that he is the legal heir of Viveka.

This will give a new weapon to YSR Congress party and its MP Avinash Reddy, who have alleged in their petitions that the illegal marriage of Viveka might be one of the reasons for his murder and there are property disputes within his family.

Watch out for more developments on this front.
