The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Tuesday accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led coalition government of diluting cases against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and demanded that the trials be conducted outside the state, citing the involvement of public funds in the alleged scams.
Former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy told reporters that the coalition government is exerting pressure to tamper with evidence and weaken investigations into multi-crore scams, including the Skill Development Corporation scam, Fibernet, inner ring road alignment, assigned lands in the capital region, and the Margadarsi case.
He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has been violating bail conditions by influencing witnesses and tampering with records, placing loyalists in key positions to undermine the cases against him.
"At the same time, Naidu is harassing those who have filed cases after gathering proper evidence and documents exposing the large-scale corruption he is accused of. In such circumstances, justice can only be ensured if the trials are held outside Andhra Pradesh," Reddy stated.
He further accused the TDP government of being vindictive toward officials who investigated the cases, such as DGP P S R Anjaneyulu and CID Chief Sunil Kumar, who were suspended, and Ramakrishna, who probed the Margadarsi case.
"In departments linked to these cases—like Skill Development, Fibernet, and CRDA—Naidu has strategically placed loyalists who are actively working to tamper with evidence. Additionally, a lawyer from Delhi has been brought in to provide expert advice on weakening the cases," he added.
Reddy claimed that the court's request for supporting documents in these cases is being intentionally delayed, and the case filed in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of Naidu's bail is being prolonged due to the state’s lack of cooperation.
The YSRCP reiterated its demand for an impartial trial outside Andhra Pradesh to ensure that justice is served and public interest is upheld.
