Narayana Gets Relief In Amaravati Cases

Former minister in TDP, P Narayana, secured anticipatory bail in the CID cases filed against him in the Amaravati land scam.

The AP high court on Tuesday granted bail to the former minister, along with realtor, Anjani Kumar and industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh, who are also c-accused in the case.

A complaint was given by Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, alleging that the Minister, along with others resorted to several irregularities in the Amaravati master plan.

The AP CID sleuths filed cases based on the complaint given by the Mangalagiri MLA.

The counsel for the former minister disputed with the CID case stating that there was no inner ring road for Amaravati and wondered how the charges can be framed against the former minister.

The counsel also alleged that the case was politically-motivated and has no justification.

The court accepted the counsel’s argument and issued anticipatory bail to the former minister and two others.

The APCID had filed cases against several TDP leaders and realtors alleging large-scale corruption in Amaravati land pooling and land allotments.

The YSR Congress, while in opposition had levelled charges of insider trading. The party, after coming to power, had directed the CID to file cases.

The inner-ring road scam, alignment and master plan for Amaravati city planned by the previous TDP government.

Narayana, who was heading the Narayana Group of Educational Institutions, was the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, which took up the land pooling for Amaravati capital city.
