Known for foul-mouthing of his political opponents, particularly the family of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, senior YSR Congress party leader and minister for civil supplies Kodali Venkateshwara Rao alias Nani was at it once again.
Reacting to the recent tours of TDP general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh in various flood-hit parts of the state, Nani said Lokesh was a worthless leader who did not deserve to be mentioned.
“He is a waste fellow. He doesn’t know the difference between a paddy crop and an aquaculture tank. His tours do not fetch any mileage to the TDP. It is a wasteful exercise,” Nani said on Friday.
The minister once again attacked the farmers of Amaravati stating that they were only trying to protect their real estate interests.
“Do you think farmers are there only in Amaravati? What about farmers of other regions?” he asked.
Nani said Amaravati farmers are making a hue and cry only because the market rates of their lands have come down due to three capitals’ plan.
“Since TDP leaders have bought vast extent of lands in Amaravati, they are abetting the farmers to agitate,” he alleged.
Reacting to former minister Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao voluntarily sporting handcuffs as a mark of protest for handcuffing some Amaravati farmers, Nani said it was not enough if Devineni wore handcuffs.
“He must shoot himself dead in protest against shooting of agitating farmers at Basheerbagh during the Naidu regime in 2000,” he said.
The minister also blamed it on Devineni for the present hassles in the completion of Polavaram major irrigation project.
“It is because of the indifferent attitude of Devineni, who was then the irrigation minister, the Centre is creating hassles in Polavaram project cost,” he alleged.
