It looks like Telugu Desam Party MP from Vijayawada Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani is preparing the ground for calling it quits from the party sooner or later.
He has been sending enough hints to this effect to the party leadership through his pungent comments on twitter.
The Monday’s comment was a sort of strong warning to party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is already in deep trouble following the recent debacle in the assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
“Chandra Babu garu, if you don’t want people like me in the party, you can let me know I will resign as Member of Parliament and also to the Party membership. If you want people like me to continue, please control your pet dog (sic),” Nani tweeted.
While the tweet was aimed at expressing his anger at TDP Vijayawada (urban) unit president and MLC Buddha Venkanna who has been engaged in a war of words with him on Twitter in the last two days, it was evident that Nani wants to push Naidu to a corner.
The MP knows pretty well that Naidu cannot control leaders like Venkanna and so, it would give him an excuse to get out of the party. However, it is not clear as to which party he would join in the event of quitting the TDP.
He has been making critical comments against YSRC and taking pot shots at the Bharatiya Janata Party as well. However, among the two, the chances of Nani preferring the BJP are more, say analysts.
