Naidu Yet To Read The Gazette On River Water

Former chief minister who served the undivided state for nine years and the residuary Andhra Pradesh for five years, and now serving as Leader of Opposition for the past two years, has not read the Gazette issued by the Central government on the Krishna and Godavari water management.

Chandrababu Naidu, who often speaks about his role in the national politics and claims as the senior most politician in the country, has no time to read the gazette.

He told media persons in Vijayawada on Saturday that he had not read the Gazette and would react only after reading it.

He is well aware of the water dispute between the two Telugu states and the letters written by AP chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Jagan Mohan Reddy had asked the Central government to notify the jurisdiction of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) and had asked for the Central security forces to monitor the projects on the river.

The Central government had notified the KRMB and also took over the security and maintenance of the Krishna River.

Though not asked, the Central government had also took over the Godavari river along with the Krishna river, and told the two Telugu states to abide by the decisions of the management boards of the two rivers.

While Andhra Pradesh is celebrating the Central government’s decision, Telangana is criticising it and is set to fight against it.

However, the senior most politician in the country had not read the Gazette to respond, despite the Andhra Pradesh, where he is the Leader of Opposition, welcoming the Gazette.
